I see lot of people talking about tightgroup. I may have to get some on the next powder purchase, along with 2400 :)

Just ordered one of the new lee drum powder measures, so may even lead to a new lease of life to unique, as apparently it measures that just as perfectly as everything else :)

I'm a great Lee fan, but their powder measures I've found to be awful.

I'm no great Lee fan but I do rate their Pro Auto-disk powder measure, I am a big fan of fixed cavity measures along with three Prodisk I have half a dozen little Dandys and a couple of Lyman Accumeasures.

Lee's "Perfect" powder measure is a joke OK for dropping a charge a grain or so under for trickling up to actual weight, works well with the Target Master. It can be made to operate better by getting rid of that sprung steel stand that comes with it and replacing it with something more solid, typical Lee "not fit for purpose out of the box needs fettling to make work" loading tool.

How much use has yours had so far?

not got it yet, but i've only seen very positive reviews of them so far. (maybe 1 bad for 25 good)

Personally I'd refrain from buying 'till it had been out there and had wide spread use for a year or two.

From my experience mechanically activated powder drop mechanisms do give the most consistent results as the activation mechanism seems to smooth out operator inconsistency for a more consistent operation and therefore powder measures.

As well as the Pro Auto disks which are mechanically actvated i also have Hornady and RCBS powder drop activated measures on my progressives and they give excellent results.

I'm afraid I see the drum measure as being a variation on their "Perfect Powder Measure" and I imagine the internals of both are the same.

I do like my pro auto disc, but it does have it's limitations, the drum has been out 5 months now. I've mostly seen praise, with the odd minor complaint - some of which have been withdrawn in other posts as was operator error.

why continue with something that is still a bit of a struggle, when there is something out there that seems to solve most, if not all of the struggles?

there are two new products, the classic powder measure, and the auto drum powder measure. it is the auto drum I have bought.
