Chainsaws: matching pair of....purely as DNA evidence gathering tools, I.e. swab the blade, bag up the body parts, etc.
Concealed carry in double shoulder holster.
SimG's missus had one in a bra holster for a try out, but she kept tripping over the flex.

Can't decide whether a Browning HiPower or a S&W model 13 in .357 with a 3 inch barrel.
Carried one for years, owned the other for "targets"...

Evan Marshall and Ed Sanow have done an enormous amount of analysis on the effectiveness of handgun "stopping power". The results of hundreds of actual shootings have shown that when loaded with premium hollow points, there is very little to choose between the 9x19 and .45 ACP. (Probably the most debated calibre versus calibre argument of gun magazine and forum inches!)
The big surprise that not many Americans like to hear is that in FMJ ball configuration, Marshall and Sanow have concluded that 9mm is actually a better performer in actual shootings than .45 ACP ball!

There is a lot of myths around the .45 stopping power even the FBI are going back to 9MM. Shot placement is the most important factor and even then handguns are poor man stoppers.
At the core of his desperate firefight was a murderous attacker who simply would not go down, even though he was shot 14 times with .45-cal. ammunition — six of those hits in supposedly fatal locations. In this free-for-all, the assailant had, in fact, been struck 14 times. Any one of six of these wounds — in the heart, right lung, left lung, liver, diaphragm, and right kidney. Now unfailingly he goes to work carrying 145 handgun rounds, all 9 mm. These include three extra 17-round magazines for his primary sidearm (currently a Glock 17)

I had seen something similar a while back, that basically the general lower capacity of a .45 magazine, and the fact that the perceived extra "stopping power" wasn't of any great benefit, and meant that .45 for a defensive handgun was a poor choice.
