Yes, I reckon prohibited as per s5(1A) (c) as detailed by Nick above. But the "b" referred to is of "1A", not "1";
"(b)any rocket or ammunition not falling within paragraph (c) of subsection (1) of this section which consists in or incorporates a missile designed to explode on or immediately before impact and is for military use;"

Re: Question time
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Grenade launcher on a Rifle? A dangerous idea.
Fired the 94 Energa Grenade from a L1A1 using a Ballistite Cartridge. Luckily they were practice versions.
Remember firing one and getting a back blast which blinded me for a minute, the bottom half of the bloody grenade had stuck on the adapter and the front half blew off, now considering the detonator is in the main body, if it had been live.
And another thing, you would have to get within spitting distance of the bloody tank for all the distance they travelled. I believe they were of some use in ambush situations though. (Borneo?)

The Matlots were still using the ballistite for line throwing in the 80s as it goes.25Pdr wrote:Grenade launcher on a Rifle? A dangerous idea.

Its a pokey little cartridge as you found out. I never trained on the Energa, they were all about the 66 by then and the 2" mortar FFS....
I nearly croaked when I saw the price of a live ballistite at a show recently....£12
