Am having a .357 threaded for a supressor - with .38 SPL should be super quiet.

Why? As long as it isn't a historically important or rare rifle, it's his and he can do what he likes with it. I, for one, would like to see a picture of it with the mod fitted and hear how it performs with it on.

I would have thought it was an ideal candidate for a sound moderator and loading for subs is super easy.

There are YouTube videos of a Marlin being threaded, a mod fitted and subs fired through it.. Holy hell its quiet.
