Planners have a statutory eight weeks to turn most applications around unless they ask you for permission to extend it. If you don't give permission you can appeal to the Secretary of State.
No such system is in place for FAC and SGC approvals/renewals!

Ah but the "lesson has been learned" with that and it would be phased in, rather than just plonked in, if you believe that

This system/process might be there but its never used as the appeal for non-determination takes longer than the original application most of the time

True, we never do but most of ours are decided within the eight weeks unless its especially contentious - we have one thats been going on for eighteen months now.
