I have my FAC in for a variation in at present and our FEO called in today so I seized the opportunity and added a few more items including a 45ACP rifle so I have no excuses now. I also have a 30-30 an 30-357 a .22LR and a couple more suppressors for .22LR and 30 cal.

I do wonder how such an application will be received with 1500 rounds to hold for each.

If you have the good reason and security commensurate with the risk why would they refuse? On what grounds?

My FEO did say something along the lines of "As it is for target shooting you can have as many as you like" No doubt the team at HQ will take a close look at my justifications.

Devizes Gunsmith currently have for sale a 1892 Winchester that was re-chambered in .45ACP for Argentine Police use. Looks to be an interesting piece.

Marlin recommends that Special ammunition, in either .357 or .44 is loaded to Magnum OAL.
I had a .357 marlin, wonderful gun but did not like chambering 38sp.
I now have a winchester .44 94AE which I do not like that much. The marlin was nicer to shoot, I had a .44 rossi as well which was also nicer to shoot.
The american obsession with not getting sued means they build so many safety features in that it just detracts from the joy. Colt did similar on the series 80 gold cups (orrible) but series 70 (sweeeeet).
