Why are the SNP so anti gun.

God knows and they have been like this for a while. Sim G has a letter from Alec Salmond from 1996 where he stated it was snp policy to destroy all legal gun-ownership there. I'm surprised he's never shown us a scanned version (with his name edited obviously and any other details relating to him also edited). Hey Sim G where are you (cue scooby doo like call). Would it be possible for you to share us the text of the Salmond letter if you still have it?

True but even republican and nationalist parties here , one that got to power trough the barrel of a gun are not as anti gun as the SNP.

They won't go for a full ban at first, going on what various SNP types have stated they will go for the number you hold.

The argument they push is "Why do you need more than one to pursue your sport?"

I could see them pushing a limit of no more than one Centre Fire Full bore rifle, one Rimfire small bore, one shotgun and a very low ammo limit to hold at home but only for people involved in farming. For target shooters it will be the oft pushed idea that ammo should be held at a club. Of course all those measures would utterly devastate the sport as just like Golf or fishing one has different rifles to do different things. Most clubs will not actually be set up to hold ammunition and reloading would be pretty much killed by the idea. Those clubs that could even consider holding ammunition would have to massively increase their fees to enable the improved security required. Participating in competitions would be an utter nightmare and many a gun shop would go under due to not being able sell the wares plus the massive collapse in rifle prices due to the reduction to the amount you can hold.

The SNP will kill the sport a bureaucratic slice at a time to satisfy their lefty supporters class war against Wealthy toffs, just have a look at their policies around land reform!
