I'm wondering now if Cotswolds were the ones that brought that model in?

Cotswold Arms were named in the article as the then distributor of the Grifone. Original retail's quoted as £653 - although it doesn't state for which spec.

I know, but if I can politely ask... once you've read my post I added before this, can you tell me what happened to Gareth Murfin from what you know. You must know a bit having researched the UK Matebas a bit? Also is it just me or just Pete Moore not change, is he some immortal warlord who throughout time reviews things and then disappears for a bit and then pops up again to do the same thing?

I can't help with any answers as to Mr Murfin's background unfortunately, my knowledge of UK spec. Mateba's is pretty much limited to what I've managed to glean from the awesome Mateba fansite. There's some really good background on there, video reviews and pdf documents of the manual and the article I linked to earlier.

Ok, I just had a conversation with someone and the straight pulls (I'm guessing the M1 carbine's he imported?) caused his problems, that and for whatever reason the police went after him (I know of a dealer who the police bankrupted with the vendetta they had against him).

I'll read the resources and in that case when will Pete Moore's next regeneration be and what will he look like when that happens?

I remember a joke when he mentioned the SGC lever release 223 working with an open bolt, the comment was that the only open bolt he had to worry about was the one on his fridge .

I don't know what the prize is. Maybe you or Sim G's missus could wrestle him for the points. Although if she wins the points before you, you have to face her to win the points. Maybe a regular coffee from Costa fortune to sweeten the deal?

I have no expertise in this area but, Cerkote or Durakoting alot of guns doesn't seem to cause a problem? Plus as daft as this sounds with there being no new Mateba's made let alone imported into the UK, is it really wise to potentially deface such a collectable (I'm not saying don't do it, it just seems an odd course of action)?

Point taken, and certainly something I've thought about. I'd be very happy to consider a swap for a quality blued example in 357! Any takers?
