All lodged with my nearest RFD, and independently witnessed going out the door and in through his, entered onto his register and Licensing dept. notified. I also phoned my local FEO and discussed it with her and she advised removing them from the premises, which I was thankfully then able to say I had done.

I have to keep telling myself that this is going to get better because it is pretty $hit right now. Saw both my boys today, youngest is cheeky as ever and too little to understand, eldest is, I think, having a very hard time coming to terms with what's going on - when I saw him last night he quite frankly wasn't the child I knew until I had been with him for over an hour - I can only hope that he can come through this without too much baggage or growing to hate either of us

No question - keep FLO informed at all times. If they say they want to revoke or "temporarily withdraw" your FAC, what grounds have they got for doing that which would stand up in court? The law says it's your responsibility to keep your firearms secure - and, by lodging them with an RFD, that is exactly what you've done.

Kids are pretty resilient mate and will form their own opinions based on what they hear and see.
Best thing that you can do is ensure your behaviour towards them is consistent and whatever you do ... don't let them down! If you say that you are going to visit or pick them up, make sure you do. Keep telling them you love them and don't be critical of their mother when in their presence. The gun storage thing is not really the important issue although there's been some good advice given and of course, actioned by yourself. Your number 1 priority is the welfare of your children and your future relationships with them.

Stay calm, think carefully before you act and the best of luck to you. It WILL get easier with time.
