I shoot at Thorn - the range Cert says only soft penetrable targets it does not say Bull / Concentric & I cant remember seeing a 'rule' otherwise? so we shoot a variety of target types: Eccentric, lucky numbers, polos, Tin Hat, Fig 11 scaled down, NRA 200yd scaled to 100yds, Animals, Submarines & ships, Bunnies & Gophers, Angry bird - we print / photocopy & paste onto shot up targets to reuse 4-5 times. However we do mainly use cadet 5 bull or NSRA types for scoring & training.

All of these keep some interested, & in between they do traditional NSRA target rifle too. I would agree figurines: blood squirting zombies, polystyrene tailors dummies & wig heads, Cameron, Clegg, & whats-his nose name... Osama etc arguably in GB bring the sport into disrepute.

If you want to see what shooting one thing over & over again does to the sport go the the NSRA meeting - lots of my generation, associates, old mates etc aaarggh & older there, precious few of my kids generation. NRA-TR is suffering the same effect.

Which club do you shoot at? I've been informed by more than one person that the range committee and council have said it. i have been told a few variations, but mainly its nothing militaristic, or resembling a person.

I totally agree it loses interest, and it wound up with me losing interest, but I discovered more calibers than .22RF and now im hooked again

Buy some 12 inch shoot n sees and cut them in half.
If the backing frame is all white or you cover it with white paper you can see your own shots with scope or binos.
I zero my Enfield like this and it works really well.

Moving the foresight blade .050 (width of blade) is about 6 inch at 100yds. Zeroing at 100 sights set at 200yds POI should be about 3in high.
Each change of foresight blade moves POI 2 inch's at 100yds
