Re: Chamber Honing?
I've decided that that's what I'll do. Safer all-round. Thanks all.
I'll try to get some pics later for dicussion's sake.

Re: Chamber Honing?
Perhaps meles meles can confirm but, to me, this looks rough as a badger's...
Re: Chamber Honing?
Christ, that machining is a bit rough! Is that a groove (the lighter radial stripe halfway-ish along the chamber)? If so, its going to take a hell of a lot of honing to get the surrounding metal down to that level and cause problems in other areas. I would ask for a replacement.
Re: Chamber Honing?
I don't think it's a groove, no - just the way the light's hitting it. It is rough though, isn't it?
Re: Chamber Honing?
If you bought that from a dealer I would take it back.
Re: Chamber Honing?
That is rougher than a rough thing and it does not look chrome plated either. Do not attempt to hone it, take it straight back to the dealer who will be able to contact the distributor and do not accept 'They are all like that sir!' either...
Re: Chamber Honing?
It's just traces of cosmoline. If anything, I overdo the CLP when it's in the cabinet.MiLisCer wrote:Is that rust in the chamber and the breech and also on the face?
Re: Chamber Honing?
Dealer has agreed to correct it. A quick whiz is probably all it'll take but I've bottled it!ovenpaa wrote:That is rougher than a rough thing and it does not look chrome plated either. Re: Chamber Honing?
