I have just got off the phone with the local Post Office and they tell me that the restrictions have not been imposed by them or the US Government. They are actually a result of a UK government request. Had it been a US government thing then UPS, Fedex and all the other carriers would be banned from carrying them as well.

Posty also told me that UK customs may also seize any and all parts entering the UK with other carriers.

....so, same as the Ebay ban of sales to the UK of knives & some gun parts then; brought about at the request of HM Gov't...

ordnance, that may be changing as well mate. If you go to Brownells site now and click on International sales all it says now is "Information coming soon!". So it looks like they are updating that as well, hopefully not for the worse.

Don't forget that ITAR controls are currently under review too. Small arms and ammunition are currently the categories under review.

I had some parts accepted for delivery by USPS this week, with no problem.

ITAR exports are still easy enough if you're willing to pay the fees (hence why parts are more expensive here....!)

Problem with that is that it may go from what it is now to more extreme. You must remember that we have a very anti gun government in control at the moment.

The last I heard was that ITAR was to be relaxed.

This is true, but from the few bits I have read so far for other categories have been pretty sensible..
