And Army surplus is again NOT uniform - it has the insignia removed.

Why did kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
God loves stupid people, that is why he made so many of them.

Steve E wrote:I help run corporate days at Bisley for the Great Britain Rifle Teams. We have clients from all aspects of society sometimes paying up to £500 per head to shoot a variety of disciplines, very few of them have had any exposure to firearms. In the majority of cases they comment on the wearing of combat/paramilitary clothing being worn by some members of the shooting fraternity, as why are these people dressing up and playing soldiers when it is obvious that they are not. Quite often the clients cannot believe that shooters would do harm to their image by dressing up in what these clients consider inappropriate clothing. Some of the clients that come along do have influence in levels of government and we wonder why we are not taken seriously.
And you did what to illustrate otherwise?
500 quid for a corporate day? For £120 you can join our club for a whole year and shoot just about any discipline on offer and not be judged by what coat you've got on!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: Dress impressions
All rather comical, we live in a society in which we are expected to respect and not judge others on just about everything (race, religion, sexuality, disability, opinion) most of which carry with them an element of dress that expresses these differences. But here we have some trying to wind the clock back. Give me strength. (For the record my protective clothing of choice is bright red sailing attire)

My club has a policy of discouraging military clothing. The thing that really gets on my t*ts are the guys who wear repro Waffen SS caps! Thankfully not in my club but when I walk past them in the butts I have to bite my lip - "Big fan of the SS are you?" wants to blurt out.
Re: Dress impressions
Complete with yellow wellies? Hey I'm kidding. If that's what works for you then more power to you. As long as it keeps you dry and warm then what the hell.(For the record my protective clothing of choice is bright red sailing attire)

Repro Waffen SS caps! Can't say I've ever seen that over here and just about anything goes, again though each to their own but in certain circles that would/could border on offensive to a lot of people.Watcher wrote:My club has a policy of discouraging military clothing.
