I thought that thread was funny - Can't say I've ever thought of Alpha as a troll...in the linked thread you can see that I was baiting him into playing the 'GOM' for a laugh; and he was happy to play up to it...

...and talking of GOMs...from all the comments made in the section I'm not sure why Alpha is being singled out as a 'bigot'...

I can't be bothered to search all his posts but if you care to check out his views on same sex marriage, as well as being a bigot I guess I could have added homophobic as well.

...Alpha didn't comment at all, but two other people said they were against same sex marriage (and I personally think they're entitled to their opinion), and one person was quite rude about it; which you commented on, on the thread...so again I ask, why is Alpha being singled out as a bigot?

Also it's Royal Signals Inspection Team - an annual visit from the tech heads who come and make sure that all our trucks, panzers and landies FFR (fitted for radio) and other such vehicles are being maintained correctly :-)

Nope that's not the thread, can't remember which thread it was and I can't be bothered searching but there was one a good while back where The Troll categorically stated that "if he had anything do do with it, gays will never marry in his church". Hey don't take my word for it, ask him his views on the subject yourself.

Blu, there are many people who are against gay marriage...It's an opinion I can't relate to, but I'd consider it more ignorant than bigoted...

...I know you have a family member/friend (? can't remember) in a civil partnership, which may be why you're taking it personally...if you look back at some of the environmental/animal rights threads, you'll see that I sometimes strongly disagree with some forum members opinions, but I say my piece and move on...or I'd never get any more good shooting and reloading advice razz

As I've already said, I think there's been a lot worse said by others in GOMs, so I think calling Alpha 'the troll' is unnecessary...and to be honest I just don't like seeing my 'forum buddies' clashing...

...anyway, the other 'acronym' thread has been 'stickied', so I'm not going to comment on this one further.

One I've been confused about: BBL. From context it is something to do with barrels but I can't quite make it fit with a known phrase.

Charlie, the meaning may be different in the UK but over here BBL is the abbreviation for barrel. I did read once many years ago that it was also used to mean Bored Barrel Length.

Trust the Yanks to settle on an abbreviation unrelated to the word they're shortening ;-)
