Have you spoke to BASC about this yet?

Also worth asking,

Those members who live in force areas where action types are not required when asking for a slot on your FAC,

What do you have printed in the "Firearms Possessed" section for those you already have?, were you asked about the action type on renewal/variation of the certificate or is there simply nothing listed or N/A put in that column?

Jon, did they ask you what the action types were or did they just fill them in themselves?

Filled in on the table at time of purchase...as per FAC instructions

As per Saddler- no action type specified on permission to acquire, action type is written in purchase table as instructed and then printed onto the "firearms possessed" column when the certificate is reprinted.

For the variation you only need specify "RIFLE". Get that fixed, buy the rifle and then let Durham scratch their heads over the wording to go on the FAC at next renewal.

In the meantime, you enjoy your new rifle.

Durham won't have it Matt, presumably to save themselves the hassle down the line when they have to move it from Table 1 to Section 1(i). To be fair, if i was working there and could get away with it, i'd do the same O:-) :run:

BASC got the ball rolling faster Jeff and the 'investigation' away from the office based staff to someone who actually knows what he's talking about but after that they basically just said "wait and see". They didn't seem interested in addressing the Durham 'requiring action type to be stated before acquiring' issue :bad:

I'd raised this with David Ilsley at BASC (via Pigeon Watch) when Durham rang me about it and he said he'd look into it.

I managed to get my Fac returned while we wait so I could pick up a very nice (absolute bargain) Benelli M3 Super 90 sec.1 last week, hopefully I may get to PSG at the end of the month to try it out!

As we're off to Sunny Florida at the end of the year I'm planning to pick up the usual 50-100Kg of shooting stuff, I've looked at 7.62x39 brass, so far I've found once fired, cleaned and annealed at around £80-£90 for 500, let me know if you want any of it :good:

Cheers for the offer, i'm going to go for a .223 one though. I might take you up on the offer for some MKA1919 magazines though.....

So Durham seem to be making the rules up as they go along. Nice one. kukkuk
