Well yeah you wouldn't if all you are shooting at is a target 25 -100 yards away. The majority of us have access to ranges in excess of a 100 yards. tongueout

Aside of Blu having some fun at various peoples expense (quite rightly so) the right primers can make one hell of a difference.
Tom (Mr Logic) is shooting in a discipline where consistency is everything, and a lack of it shows (F/TR). Most of the league shoots are at 1000yds with a .5moa V Bull.
So you need a good ES. Mine were measured in single figures but only with CCIBR4s. A while back someone on here did all sorts of trials and told us what we had known for quite some time.....CCI BR4s are ideal for the small primer pocketed cases being used widely in F/TR.
I remember when the BR4 was less than £40 a thousand....not that long ago as it goes.
What p*** me off is the way we get stitched up by importers and RFDs "because we will pay it".....course we will, we have no bloody choice, no payee no sodding shootee.
And we wonder why some arms are becoming elitist with some of the really good shots not getting a look in emrolleyes
I really thought great, RS have a good range, proven, we wont be beholden to the US or other fluctuating sources, and the prices can be kept down....crap it seems!!
Years ago I remember certain dignitaries wearing s*** eating grins in a "Trade only" airgun mag because the new VCR bill almost killed off the internet houses over night and kept the prices up. They were making 400% on some of the Chinese crap, it was bloody immoral and I wish at the time I had scanned it onto the BBS.....that would have buggered the sales for a bit!!
I don't object to people making a good honest living, but not by fleecing those involved in a sport we want to expand rather than price out of the market.
Play the long game FFS, if you want to make a quick buck go into stocks and shares.
Conversely a well known member on here recently made me a thingy for quickly zeroing a No4.
Now here I have a dilemma, because I thought it out and asked said genius to make me one up. It is KISS at its best, but allows repeatable and roughly measured adjustment to be made to a No4 foresight on the range without sticking those stooped bloody clamps on, its a quick, easy to use stop that works. Why dilemma? I have the only one and its brill....but I think every No4 owner should try one.
I asked him why I had not been invoiced, he said because he was not going to bother, it was easy enough to make and not that costly on materials.
That's not the point though, he worked out the thread, machined it, polished it, so it took some thought and time where a fare paying customer should pay so he asked me how much I thought.....Difficult....."£40" I said.
Apparently the cost was nearer to £20....but its worth £40 to me....so you see, there is such a thing as integrity.
No doubt though it will be ripped off by some waste of skin and get sold for twice the price. Should this happen I genuinely hope that the offender's bo...cks turn square and fester at the edges.
For my part, I will wait and see, but if the RS prices are not reasonably less than the alternatives they can take a flying cluck at a rolling doughnut. I will use something else and vote with my feet.
It wont make a difference but that's the problem. Its very difficult to cut these peoples noses off without spiting OUR faces tesnews
There are an awful lot of small RFDs popping up selling at reasonable prices to club mates.....funny that eh?
Rant over...see...that what happens after bank holidays. You come back on a Tuesday but think its Monday
