I mainly used 62g ammo, Barnaul normally which shot and stabilised well, later RG was ok for around 20 rounds then could get a little bit tight, the early 93 is really sticky though. GGG is fine and ejects like butter as does PPU and homeloads, some 55g ammo was a little hit and miss. Norninco M193 was useless at 25m but seemed to sorts its self out by the time it got to 100m but would win no awards for accuracy but would tumble Fig11 to 300m. American eagle and Barnaul was ok at that weight too. Best things you can do is try a selection.

If its tumbling fig11's at 300m its doing what its designed to do.As Saigas are essentially AK's (same factory, same assembly lines) they are primarily designed for centre mass shots on a fairly large target.My AK's will put pretty much every round in an 8" circle at 100m with milsurp and as I said earlier they will drop fig11's out to 500m which isn't bad for some steel, wood and a few rivets.It first I got a bit hung up on the whole AK vs accuracy thing but now I just enjoy them, out at Sennybridge they are in their element as is the SVDS.

You've hit the nail on the head, they are fun guns and not track drivers. I could do as well with this with a x10 scope as I could with a x4 on my M4 at 400m. Like you most of this shooting is was done at Senny on Fig 11 reactive targets and they are one hell of a lot of fun !!! My steyr scout .223 puts these pretty much through the same hole and is great, highly accurate but it doesn't have a 30 round mag, quick release mag and a side charge handle that lets me drop target after target. now why did I get rid of this .......

As for your SDV this is accurate yes, my Dragunov is devilishly good with homeloads, a little hit and miss with surpless.

Is your Dragunov a fixed stock with the full length barrel?.Don't know if you were there but I've done the last two shoots at Senny F range with ODRC, with the SVDS.

had a run down to wilson & wilson in ramsgate this morning, mainly to get some primers and powder. thought i would ask while there and he had some 62g Barnual quite cheap so picked up five boxes. im starting to think i should have picked up more.

Yes fixed stock with the full length barrel, this was the second one of a pair brought in initially by C&G before they all became popular.

I did see you at Senny in-between the rain, I popped into Charlotte the flyers fox hole for a quick shot of her K31 and caught a glimps of your kit, you were next door. I also wouldn't mid a go of that AK104 (was that yours ??)

I was down the noisy end with the .50's getting covered in sand and silt every trigger pull :lol: I left most of the kit in the bags as I didn't want to have to dry it all off

If you can get this cheap get it, the its an AK stable diet :lol:

It was a bit wet wasn't it!!!.The AK-104 used to be mine, I sold it to my mate Gaz to fund the purchase of the AKMS.I really want a full length SVD to turn into a Soviet wood stocked version but they are taking an age to arrive, saying that I offered to swop my SVDS for my mates SVD but he wasn't biting.
