I filled mine with bean bag polystyrene balls,light as hell and waterproof,shoots fine and I have fun throwing them for people to catch pretending they are soooooo heavy! "hey Steve,feel the weight of this!" it always gets a laugh......

Yes, the poly pellets are excellent and cut down a lot on unnecessary weight of which any reductions are welcome.

That kiddies shop...ELC...sell specially graded sand for sand pits
I was told that the correct grade of sand for rests/bags is a special dense type
Personally, I think anything will work - .22 brass is a good idea - I may use fired shotgun primers (if I get a bag/rest)

All very well in 100% dry conditions, but the slightest hint of moisture and the rice will swell bursting your bag easy as ... ... emrolleyes
