I was being sarcastic, but it obviously failed.

We need a sarcasm emoticon.

As I have said before I think the Targetmaster is a far superior piece of kit to the Chargemaster.

Witout being sarcastic, I couldn't agree more, a brilliant gizmo - my first one lasted me 26 years and was only put out of action by my stupidity - I'm awaiting the arrival of No.2

Never used a Targetmaster. However I've just watched Spuds video on it, bit on the slow side isn't it? Thirty seven seconds to drop a 1grn charge (yeah I timed it), I take it there is a way to speed it up some without the use of a book.

Serves you right for watching that video, read my review.

The trick is to use a powder thrower to drop the charge 2-3 tenths of a grain below the wanted weight and the use the targetmaster to trickle up the remaining to the desired weight. I use a cheap Lee powder measure.

Doing it that way as recommended by Targetmaster it is quicker that all the other dispensers, the Targetmaster doesn't claim to be fast it was made for consistent accuracy but using it as it is, a trickler, it works very fast that is just a bonus.

I went looking for info on the TM and found it, then read your review (better than a sleeping pill) :run:

Hey whatever floats your boat brother, I use both the Chargemaster and beam scales, just depends what I'm loading and how many of. Thing I like about the Chargemaster is that the various speeds from fast to trickle can be programmed into the machine. Thing I don't like about the CM is that it's crap for pistol loads but then that's no big deal as I usually load straight from the powder hopper itself anyway.

Yep whatever suits, I sold my Chargemaster dispenser but kept my Pact, they were about equal speed and accuracy wise but I preferred the Pact having the separate scale which is handy to use for batching boolits.

I just throw my charges and weigh every tenth one to check , works well for me but i'm not doing bench rest so 1/2 inch groups will do me , I fine i'm the limiting factor not the quality of my ammo?

I did a test a few years ago and individually weighing charges and using a trickler didn't materially improve my ammo over a good thrower technique.
