You cheeky little s*d! LOL. Here is one sailor that never managed to shoot anyone with my Browning, Sterling, SLR, Bofors, 4.5 inch Naval gun, 6 inch Naval Gun. Some say that I and Sailors in general couldn't hit a barn door anyway before anyone chips in. Had lots of 'accidental discharges' but the naval doctors/sick berth attendants just gave me penicillin.
Hey Geordie

No offence mate, but I just KNEW I'd get a bite from that one :shakeshout:

25Pdr, I'm spoilt for choice mate, I don't always carry the same gun if I carry at all. Just depends on where I'm going and what the neighbourhood might be like. TBH my favourite carry gun is my Ruger P345.

Blu

Just kidding Blu, only wanted to display some gun porn. Revolvers were always my favourite.

My choice of a carry gun would be a K Frame with a 2" barrel if I was in your position.

Jerry Miculek....8 Rounds in 1 second with a revolver..

Yeah I like revolvers as well though for carry I prefer my Ruger.

a mate was in the back of a warrior in Iraq when someone had an ND with an SA80 ... the round bounced around without hitting anyone (luckily) it then lodged itself in a LAW which started to fizz and generally show its displeasure .... scary stuff !!

I don't fcuk about with it loaded or unloaded.
And therein lies the solution. Way too many people have the urge to play around with a holstered firearm when they carry it. Oh and how many dumbos have had their finger on the trigger when releasing the slide.

All back to simple concept: Gun loaded, pull trigger = bang!

Sim, it's nowt to do with combat - how many police who have shot themselves "cleaning their gun" have seen combat -, these guys are just better at weapon handling than most.

Safety catches are for those who cannot be trusted to stop faffing about with the trigger. "Stroking the trigger" is actually quite common with lesser trained people. Of course a decent holster that covers the trigger stops that nonsense.

This safety system is so simple if you cannot figure it out buy a revolver instead:

Here's someone with "interesting" pistol handling skills:

Hi Mezzer, yup I knew that you would be angling for a bite, so did not want to disappoint ha ha!
Good shooting.
PS. I was a Radio Operator by the way and never shot the 4.5 and 6 inch guns!

Hmmmm

I hated taking the ranges with the Browning.

Nowt wrong with the pistol, just the lack of practice with it.

Some arse put a round in the deck between him and his mate.

It was part of a make safe....work that out.

Excuse

"I am not used to doing the drills with a holster".....Well excuse me???

What about the bit in between where you take the mag out, check clear, point the damned thing down the range, ease the bloody springs and re fit the mag...then you put it back in the holster.

tesnews

I suppose one thing about having a lack of accessible hammer is you cannot half cock the thing...which was handy.

I remember some fool doing the old "Pencil down the barrel, point at mate, squeeze the tit, pin hits pencil and fires it" Routine.

SADLY, he had not thought that if he was going to break every rule in the book, it may have been a good idea to take the mag off before he cocked it and added organic material.

Then another fool put half a mag of 2Z into the NAAFI door....no one hurt thankfully.

Hy drew the Stirling (Hatefull pile of junk...sorry, but it was) as is alternative weapon because it was lighter and looked cool (?).....Nob head tesnews

His mate died....they were not sure what got him, bullet or pencil kukkuk

Momentary lapse of reason (Good album, not good when carrying firearms).......

No they are not they are a backup in case the trigger is accidently pulled for whatever reason. Firearms manufacturers don't fit them for the fun of it.
