It'd be worse if you were putting a scope on an original...

...hang in there dude, you might even see some benefits...it's very handy to see the hole as you make it on some courses of fire...

Good point, there is that...

...when you see the hole appear in the white area, and think why did I pull the trigger when it was pointing there!

You tell me...did they have the AE version back then? Is your's an original 1890's piece? (I don't know all the history, I just shoot them)

You tell me...did they have the AE version back then? Is your's an original 1890's piece? (I don't know all the history, I just shoot them)
Sorry I don't get yeah are you saying it has to be made before 1890 to be a original Winchester. My rifle is a Winchester trapper AE. It is a original Winchester its not a Marlin or Rossi or a Henry its a Winchester. Its worth as much to me as any Winchester no matter when it was manufactured. It would be just as upsetting putting a scope on a 1890,s Winchester as my trapper in my book.
I bought the rifle new a month after they stole my pistols of me it was the first rifle I bought when I got my FAC back off the thieving backstuds. So defiling it by fitting a scope is no light decision for me.
