Very nice! A real mint rifle.

But a real shame not to get it shooting.

Fair enough!

Some of mine are on a collectors ticket - still stretch their legs once in a while though!

Much nicer than the typical example found in the states. Bubba had his hand in converting many a "worthless" German junk rifle to a sporter configuration years ago. K98's of that condition are simply not seen very often and when located command exceptional prices. You have a world class example, enjoy.

Your rifle should be fired, shooting it will not damage it. Nothing more satisfying than taking a historic rifle, a trophy of that defeated evil empire and putting 20 rounds through it and feeling that metal get hot, smoke coming whisping from the action, perhaps for the first time in 60 years. My dad had a saying, "no wall hangers" something that nice and original should be fired, who are you saving it for, shoot it, enjoy it, it's your life now and your rifle, the next generation won't care if a few rounds go thru it.

I don't know what a collectors ticket is and have never seen or heard of one before.

On my FAC I have some 40 slots where the reason to possess is for the purposes of forming part of a collection, research and target shooting. It is not a separate licence just conditions about why you have them and the ammunition.

Hi,
As Iv,e never been a member of a gun club my FAC do,s not allow me ammo so I need to join a gun club first ,time at the moment is limited but I do hope to join one soon and then you never know I could fire it, do have 2 sons that could give me a few pointers 1 serving and 1 ex army and I,m sure there would be plenty of others to tell me which end is which?

All the best Mark
