Fultons had an Arisaka until recently, can't quite remember the price, but I believe it was around the 600 mark

From memory (I saw one of the 100th anniversary G98's, funnily enough...back in 1998 prior to their release) the 100 made DO have history..!
They are all built using genuine WW1 era G98 actions.
As others have said, nice...but pricey!
Possible ideas for the OP:
M1903 Springfield, OR an M1917 if you cannot find an '03. As has been said the 30-06 is a great round.
M96 Swedish Mauser, either an M96 rifle or an M38 carbine. The cartridge was ground breaking & still holds its own today.
Ross M1910, perhaps? 303 or one of the commercial chamberings...
