I'd visited with my cert and an empty slot (never a smart move) and came away with a rifle in a gunslip. I was stopped no less than 3 times by traffic cars. Once said the phone calls from 'well meaning' drivers were coming in thick and fast. Also that the descriptions were a joke - gun toting, mad helps angel I'm not!
If you do decide to do it. Make sure you take your bike paperwork with you to save from the producer demands and trip to the nick.
Makes me feel like sticking a fishing rod in one of my gunslips and tootling up & down the A9 on my bike and see if anyone notices and reports me.
I've never been pulled before when carrying a rifle or shotgun on the bike.

I went to a Craft Fair - absolutely nothing to do with shooting or country sports, and took a gun-slip with me. I had a paper cut out of a gun and a stick inside as I was ordering a hand made leather slip and the maker needed sizes and templates to measure up against.
I walked across a busy car park, through several marquees, had a beer, over about 3 or 4 hours. All I got was a couple of quick glances - no questions, no police called, no one avoiding me ... Deep down, a little disappointed as I was quite prepared for someone to say something, just absolutely nothing!

On the subject of motorbikes did you ever come over to the darkness and buy that BMW Scotsgun?

I did indeed and have put a grand total of about 200 miles on it (round trip to Macleods of Tain). I walk into the garage and immediately reach for one of the Triumphs. It just doesn't appeal to me when sitting with them.

You need some comfy slippers and a pipe, all will make sense then.
