Whats wrong with the 505's? Are you sure it is them at fault and not the Chargemaster, especially if it hasn't had time to warm up/settle, is situated near strip lights, placed in close proximity to other electrical equipment (computer screens ?) etc.
Having used both the Chargemaster and the 505 scales, I know which one I would personally trust more.

In my opinion the 505 scale is not a patch on build quality as the Hornady.

The scale it self is to light it is not very well made I dont like the 505 so I have got rid of it.
The chargemaster is spot on there is nothing wrong with it I will not reload again with out using it but I will use it with my Hornady beam scale.

If you are happy with your 505 great. I prefer the Hornady.

I would like another one so I can leave the chargemaster set up with the Hornady scale.
As far as I am aware Hornady dont make the beam scale any more they only make electronic scales now a days.

I am a bit confused here.
I agree 100% with your views on the Targetmaster as made by 1066, they are a brilliant bit of kit-I have been using a borrowed on for a few months and have decided to buy one when funds permit. But in your post, that I replied to, it states that you are using an 'RCBS powder measure' then Chargemaster then Targetmaster.
I am just trying to ascertain if the problems you were having are due to the scales or the dispenser!
Cant comment on Hornady beam scales as I have never used them but I suppose its down to personal taste at the end of the day.

Sorry my mistake I am using a targetmaster auto powder trickler with my Hornady scale. It is set up in my reloading room near my press etc.

The purchase of the arbor press and Le Wilson dies and trimmer means I can sit at my computer desk and load sat down in comfort. I bought the RCBS 505 to use at my computer desk so I don't have to disturb the targetmaster and Hornady scale set up.
In my opinion the Hornady is a much better built scale more robust and easier to use. I found the RCBS scale to be flimsy and to fiddly and a pain in the but use with out the target master.

I don't like the 505 so I am getting rid of it. Its my mistake for buying it.

Any way no worries looks like I may have located another Hornady.
