i just picked up a southern gun lever release rifle - model g (latest glock mag version - not uzi).
I thought so. Do you realise that using handloads will invalidate the warranty? If not, have a read of this

Edit: You might want to clarify your position regarding reloading 9mm for the SGC LR - your OP reads as if you are, but later posts it seems like you're only thinking about reloading for the 9mm. You don't something to go wrong and not be covered because of a misunderstanding.

mate - i havent reloaded for the 9mm yet and i have heard of this situation...though by the time the news got to me the conversion had morphed into the fact it was down to dodgy reloads and the bloke wouldnt send bob a batch to test to confirm this - or it could be someone else? (this is what i heard by the way, so i dont want to start anything off here!).
i was told by rfd, who has 'fixed' a lot of SGC LRs, who basically recommended a round with decent power in order to operate the blowback and use fmj's to stop fouling...so i will investigate this further and see what my RFD says (and you guys - opinions please?) before i do...i will keep wearing my shooting glasses though, just in case!
post edit - i just read the manual and you are correct - but this is BS surely, unless people start using whacky loads?!?

You will need more than shooting glasses if it back fires on you.
When we had one Bob said only to use factory FMJ ammo which we did never a mis feed or mis fire, uzi mag model..

No worries - better safe than sorry.
Noted the differences in what you heard regarding the failure - it would be interesting to find where that came from.

ok, after trawling through some 32 pages (nearly anyway!) i get the idea of what happened and the 'Chinese whispers' that i heard...i guess i will be sticking with factory loads for now and, if people are interested, i'll let you know how i get on...so i guess i will need to buy some factory subs then

Or just send it back under distance selling regulations if you've only just got it

I have to say that, in my humble opinion, any firearm that won't handle properly made reloads is a firearm I DON'T want to own.

"if people are interested"
I'm sure people will want to know how you get on with your new SGC 9mm, they just wanted to let you know there has been a problem using reloads.
