Why not make one in 9MM, I assumed if you could have full bore calibers in LBP revolvers you could also have full bore semi/ auto.

I don't think so no. A revolver is not self loading, self loading guns are limited to .22 for section one ticket holders.

The recoil did index the cylinder as well as cock the hammer, surely that's as self-loading as you can get?
