Mike did reel off a list of various makes to try, and to be perfectly honest I've forgotten most that he mentioned to me.

He did say to avoid mini mags, because of the variance in case size and I think he said avoid either Winchester or Remington (can't remember which).

Last night I tried CCI standard velocity, RWS semi auto, Aguila and Eley Force, all cycled fine. Tonight I'm going to try American Eagle and Eley Contact.

Are you down Midlands way? Eley contact I was told was limited release at the moment. It shoots very nice through my CMMG. Minimag has gone down the toilet last year and a bit, used to be awesome but the quality control has really dropped.

I regularly group test rimfire ammo and minimag used to shine in everything from cz bolts to ar15's, now it groups 2" @25 yards. Most consistent ammo I found recently has been from RWS and Eley. RWS do some specific pistol rounds you might want to try.

For pistol I tend to put a laser on the bottom rail to bench test ammo, makes it easier to eliminate the shooter to a degree, being short of a vice!

Does the slide lock back on the last round ?

Yes, I live in South Staffs. It helps if you have a friend who works for Eley! But to be honest, the Eley wasn't that great, I got loads of light strikes. The most reliable so far has been CCI standard velocity, Blazer and RWS semi auto.

Good guess! £12 to have the magazine that's included with the pistol modified and another £12 for the slide spring.

Hi All, Just back from the Icon Arms afternoon shooting the new Sig P226. Six of us plus Mike. We had access too 2 new Sigs plus 1 of our six was their to collect their new Sig complete with Laser sight. All the pistols worked well. I shot 300 rounds and was very impressed, build quality, new last shot slide open worked well. Best group 1.5in at 10m for John with the laser after a few sighter's.

I would recommend anyone who is looking for a LBP contact Mike, this really is the best of the currently available options.

I have ordered one, with short pull trigger, slide open option and 6 magazines. Thinking about the light spring option for a lighter trigger.

We shot a variety of ammo all seems ok. We had a few no strikes at first as slide not fully seated. This is due to the fact all the pistols straight out of the box. By the end of my 300 rounds no problems at all with the last 100 rounds.

Most fun I have had pistol shooting for years. I have some video I will post later next week.

I really just cannot express how impressed I was and how much fun we all had.

On what basis is it the best of the available options and how many of the other options have you shot?
