Well, the buffer isn't used on a .22lr.

We can't have semi auto .17HMRs AFAIK, but its power needs to be understood.

I am being serious about the .17HMR though, it’s far to powerful to use with a polymer or aluminium buffer tube, they need to be titanium.

There was a big debate al while back about how "poor" quality a certain rifle was because it had a polymer buffer tube and not a aluminium and misguided perception that that must be bad.

If a stock was wobbly it would not be because the buffer tube was polymer per se , it could be a variety of reasons.

Never underestimate the mighty .17HMR.

You may have seen one or even think you have used one.....but it was probably just the downloaded version issued for civilian use. The actual .17HMR is only available to Tier 1 Operators for launch from submarines.

Could you chop off the fake moderator, recrown and screwcut the shortened barrel, and put a real one on and fix it so it was part of the barrel thereby keeping the 12 inch rule? Has anyone done this yet?

No reason why not, some of the GSG MP5's have been done like that (by an RFD)
