Certainly if factory 9mm has done this amount of damage the remainder of the batch needs to be preserved and tested. I would suggest contacting someone like Iain Robertson of the NRA at this stage and get some advice.

What a kerfuffle.

One thing this thread has absolutely convinced me of. I will NEVER buy an SGC gun. Well played SGC, Your marketing strategy of having abysmal customer service just lost you a potential customer. How does that feel? I'm sure I'm not the only one too... You could have made a lot of "friends" by the way you handled yourself with this rifle, especially having seen the thread and know the exposure to the community it has had.

Fail. Just like your rifles apparently.

This thread has been reposted on several other forums so it has certainly had plenty exposure. Coupled with discussions elsewhere about poor feed problems and I really think the Mk6 of "G" version of the 9mmLR has been a disaster.

Looking at the pictures of the SGC guns, their design and finishing etc and then looking at the pictures of Lantac's firearms - if Paul built a 9mmLR to his standards and knowing the back up you'd get, I'd be at the front of the queue. Insted of the Unicorn it would be called the Carlsberg!

I too desperatly wanted a SGC 9mmLR and was unsure of the design of the Mk6 as it looked "wrong". After this carry on, unless I can get an older model or another manufacturer comes into the fray, I don't think I'll bother.

I do not doubt the integrity of the design or Bob's work and SGC has a good reputation. My view on this is for SGC to go public and say this is what we thing happened, this is what we think caused it and this is what we are putting in place to prevent a recurrence.

SGC should be reacting very quickly to show they are doing the right thing and alleviate present and future concerns. Keeping quiet about it is not doing anyone any favours right now.

On a personal note I have just done a deal on an SGC AR clone and although it is not the same beast I have no concerns about it and look forward to using it.

Ovenpaa that's the sad thing. SGC AR rifles are held in quite high regard and by all accounts seem well engineered. All manufacturing has problems, you need look no further than Spikes Tactical ceasing production of 22 bolt carrier groups due to quality issues.

I think that if SGC go public now with their "opinion" as to the nature of the failure, they will only alienate more people. Certainly some sort of "holding" statement would at least be a step in the right direction.

Plenty other suppliers have come on here when faced with negative criticism and I have the utmost respect for those that do.

I think we should all just wait and see what is in the report first - you never know we might just be surprised.

Quality lies in the hands of the manufacturers! It's built in.
Openness and honesty is the only way for them to survive in the business.

Not heard anything at all, I'll update as soon as I hear.

Emailed Shooting Supplies and got a reply.

They've just received the gun back from SGC, the report (with photos) is being emailed later and Roger will forward a copy to me.
