The gallery rifle comps that I do at Bisley,
Spring in to Action Gallery Rifle Action Weekend (GRAW)
Phoenix
Nationals GRAW
Autumn GRAW

All run the same comps, and I would typically shoot,
Advancing target (sometimes called the advancing man by those un PC types)
Timed and Precision 1
T&P 2
1500
And occasionally the steel plates.

All these comps, and I assume the others ran at the same events, have courses of fire which use loads of 6 rounds for Centre Fire rifles and 10 rounds for Rimfire.

Unfortunately, at the current time I do not travel away from Bisley, so I have no knowledge of what courses of fire are being ran at other venues.

Just being helpful based on this quote from the first page of this thread.

That is the right Pro Mag and works right out of the box. Bob cuts a slot in the UZi mags to accept the AR15 magazine catch, this being only modification necessary.

Hi, first post!, I've been looking at the LRA9 and have finally decided to get one :) Are the 9mm magazines just standard "AR15 9mm" mags or a particular type, I had read earlier that they were using Glock mags?. Reason I ask is that I'm in the USA at present and can probably pick one or two up at a local gun shop while I'm here.

Hi,

You will make no friends here telling us that you are in the USA and buying gun parts ****

Seriously,
It appears that the first model works on standard 9mm AR mags which are hard to come by in the UK so Bob got a load of UZI mags and cut them to fit.

The current model uses Glock magazines but I do not know which model. I would stick my neck out and guess the model 17 as it is used so much in the UK by the Police etc and people like Edgar Bros will already be shipping them in.
Not sure if anyone on here has a Glock version of the LR9 yet,

Edit,

Just had a look at Bobs data page and he states the magazine is a 17 round capacity. The Glock guys will be able to tell you which models are available in 9mm and 17 round capacity - I still think it is the model 17 (17th patent by Glock not 17 rounds).

Thanks :) I'd better not tell you what I have in the 3 suitcases we're bringing back then :)

I'll have a look and see what the Glock 17 mags run at tomorrow, we're off to the range and the shop carries a fair amount of stuff so they may have some.

That is as good a reason as any to head to the USofA for a few days!

Welcome to the forum phaedra1106 :good:

Thanks guys :)

I've been stocking up on reloading gear and components for my Steyr SSG-04 in .308 and Henry Big Boy in .44, we may have to use a fourth case the way things are going!. I did pre-book a couple of extra cases so no nasty surprises at check-in.

Edit.

One thing I forgot to ask, what would you advise for barrel length and twist rate?, it will be mainly used at 25m indoor with the odd monthly outing to 100m. Thanks :)

No :shakeshout: that one's sorted with 168gr Nosler CC and some nice N140

I meant for the LRA9, I have some Berry's Plated round nose 115gr bullets over 4.5gr of TiteGroup I was going to use and wondered what the best option was.
