Re: MORE SCARE STORIES IN THE PRESS

#101 Post by Chuck »

Radio 4 news ran the story this morning, but in a very measured way. They said that incidents involving legally held firearms were extremely rare.
Which is true!

NRA's Andrew Mercer just made a statement on Eagle Radio (Guildfords local radio station). Top headline on their 4pm news section. Not on their website yet though.

I don't want to take away from getting on any news, because any publicity NRA can get to put to bed this sensationalistic media is good. But how is Andrew Mercer not in the mainstream media.

How is it nearly 5pm the day all this breaking news is coming out and there is no mention of it, or how scandalously it has been reported on the NRA's homepage or news page.

I'm sure there's lots going on "behind the scenes", but they're not really publicly jumping in to action over this bombshell that's been presented to the national media.

Does he plan on making a national statement? As lovely as Guildford is, the National Rifle Association should really be broadcasting a bit further than local radio.

And of course it may have been on earlier news reports - I'm working with a very loud embroidery machine so can only hear the radio between garments!
