How do you know it's the best on offer?

After looking at the current models available and seeing the many forum comments on the current crop of LBP's I still see the SIG as the best on the market so far, it is my personal opinion, but only time will tell.

More options are being talked about ie the Barretta and the Glock, but these are no where near ready to be on sale

I was able to see 4 different LBP,s at the recent show and just holding the Sig and the built quality and balance is my hand made the decision for me.

You pays your money and takes your chance.

When you say "batch", how many is he doing at a time, do you know? 5, 10, 50?

As for the "best", we'd be talking about the Volquartsen or S&W LBRs...

As much as I support the Sig (and its price) I would not say that it is the best! That is a sweeping statement that needs qualified.

As a straightforward plinker, it will be as good as its cheaper competitors mentioned elsewhere in this thread. It may be possiible to find 'smiths who can tune the trigger and make it easier to shoot and possibly more accurate. In my personal opinion, it will certainly be the best for feel and authenticity over and above the plastic and monkey metal competition. The same would apply to a Beretta LBP, but that too will be north of £1k I'm pretty sure. I wouldn't want a 22 Glock, not with that trigger anyway.

Now as for the best, well I would have to say that crown belongs to the Buckmark and the VQ. What serious shooters use is a fair reflection as to what the perceived accuracy is. Just look down the line at the The Phoenix and The National HC LBP matches. The gap may not be huge in terms of accuracy but its there.

Same goes for the Taurus, We'll see less and less of them and more and more Europas and Matchmasters.

I have to agree, I would put my buckmark up against pretty much any .22 LBP in terms of reliability and accuracy, wouldnt expect it to be any better or worse than the VQ pistol. I guess it comes down to what you consider more important, pretending its the good ol days or accuracy etc

I was never a pistol shooter and in honesty have no great desire to do it, guess that as I never did it, I dont miss it.

top of the pile for me is the VQ, but my pocket wouldnt run to that, I put together a complete competition setup with a buckmark for about £700, great easy to tune trigger, good quality reliable mags, last round hold open, long term proven design.

I'm not sure about saying the sig is the best in the market given its completely unproven, I've yet to hear from a single person who has actually fired one.

At the end of the day you go with what you fancy buying, if you want proven accuracy and reliability with good after sales service, a new pistol from a new entrant into the market that nobody has fired seems a poor choice.

You might be onto a total winner, you might be onto a turkey, nobody knows yet but we'd be delighted to hear your results with it, it sure felt like a fine pistol to me!

Unfortunately the lad who was going to bring his Sig to PSG today was ill so didn't show. Might get a goosey at it next Saturday

Maybe its just me, but I get bored pretty fast shooting my .22 handgun, a few rounds through it and the 9MM or .45 comes out. If all I could have was .22 it might be different.

Yeah my diamond slippers can get a bit tight too
