Very cool Ray....sorry about not replying to your text mate, completely overwhelmed with work and it got missed.
Thats a very fine looking rifle, great fun to shoot also I would think.

according to their site they are selling 7.62x54r for 36eur/1000 and 7.62x39 for 87eur/1000 !!!!!!!!

If only we could get it at that price. I love my AK and would love it even more at those prices...

A rummage around a military collectors and surplus fair can turn up some good magazines. I recently went to the Coventry collectors fair at the Motorcycle Museum. Found a small stall being run by a couple of old blokes that had an H&K high reliability magazine for the L85/AR-15 sitting on it, I already have a couple of those for my .223 vz.58 and they are superb. Eager to add one more I asked how much, the old guy then pulled three more from a box beside him and said "£20 for the lot". Smiling I gave him a crisp new twenty and walked away in the happy knowledge that I would of happily paid that for one!
They are used but in good nick and the vz.58 feeds nice from them. I can understand why the Army went over to plastic Magpul EMAG, the HK high reliability mag weighs almost twice as much as the old RG steel mag. Considering I am using it for target shooting no big deal.
The main problem with the 7.62x39 vz.58 is whilst the steel mag looks like an AK one it is entirely incompatible and there are no manufacturers making alternatives. It is steel Czech/Slovak surplus/NOS or nothing!
