I have it on my boing, but just tend to use the regular forums in landscape, like billgatese30.
So, I probably wouldn't bother TBH.

Why not use the forum software's mobile variant? I know you looked at it before and were going to wait - at least that would be accessible to ALL smart-phone users rather than an application that leaves some having to use the standard version.

Phpbb doesn't have a mobile version, but you can get themes which are optimised for mobile. If you have any forum mods, it's another thing to keep on top of as they won't necessarily be compatible with the theme.
There's nothing to stop a forum for having a mobile theme, "An application" plugin and any other plugin. It does mean more work for the site admin though!

So what do you class phpbb-mobile.com/ as?
For exactly the point you raised ... one method would keep workloads for the site admin/mods low. And if there is to be one, select one which serves ALL users not just a select few.

Whilst it is in its RC state, there are still too many bugs and known issues, if/when it is reaches the official release stage, then we can look at it again, we are still looking at "An application", its advantages and disadvantages.

I class it as a product which isn't fully ready yet. Until its released as stable I personally wouldn't touch it.
It's installed via automod, so new patches to phpbb will potentially break it. How quickly they will release updates for stable versions is also yet to be seen.

I access the forum via my boing most of the time and it is fine. I wouldn't use an App that I have to pay for and that I have no idea whether it will enhance my time on here. Not for me.

Sorry guys,
We have looked into it, looked at the feedback and decided not to install it.
