SimG, I have a spare RCBS hand primer going begging if you want it FOC. It only needs a primer tray and I sure the Lee one you have there would fit it. It's more than 20 years old but it's still going strong.

"One less" Do I detect a certain, shall we say, bias against Lee kit. Although Lee shellholders are excellent and I have a secons hand press which I use for case de-priming, am I alone in finding Lee kit a bit rudimentary?

No Dad, you're not alone.

The transfer bar in my Lee hand priming tool snapped, which was sorted when the nice gentleman behind the counter in Fulton's gave me a spare from the odds 'n' sods box for a donation to the charity box. (Was very pleased and nearly reformed my opinion of Fultons.) A couple of weeks later the handle broke. I generally put Fed 210M or Rem 9 1/2 primers into Winchester or RUAG cases which have had the pockets uniformed, so it's not like I'm doing anything strenuous.

That said, I do like their hand reloading press and find it ideal for neck sizing and bullet seating.

Cheers,

Gaz

First thing I got rid of when I bought my turret press kit (well that and the Lee scales!), bought an RCBS Universal hand primer, superb piece of kit :good:

I broke mine a couple of years back, I contacted Lee directly and they said that because I was in UK all I had to do was email a pic of my broken lever. They sent a new one free of charge.
A week later I broke the new one too! Both were broke priming .223 PPU brass which did not have uniformed primer pockets as it was just plinking ammunition I was making.
The cross section on the broken lever will show you what cheap monkey metal the levers are made from! I made one out of brass now and it is way stronger.
If you look at the newer version of the priming tool the main difference is a beefed up lever on it, I guess they had cost reduced the materials used just a little bit too far and realised it was an issue that needed addressing.
Cheers
