Just my view BUT ... if it don't fit then don't force it... especially with an explosive!
I can't believe that 'extra leverage' is needed with a reloading press!.... I would change components rather than risk my eyes or produce shoddy ammo via what I am hearing.

I don't know about shoddy but my PPU primer loaded cases in my 7x57 Boer Mauser were giving consistent 1" - 1 1/4" groups at 100 yrds on Saturday.
As has already been said most presses prime on the bottom of the handle up stroke so you are not using the full leverage of the press. I am on my last 200 PPU LR primers from a batch of 5,000 bought just under a year ago and other than requiring a bit more effort to seat they have performed flawlessly. Never failing to fire and never going off at the bench. Wearing eye protection should be common practice when loading any primer. If your primer punch is set up correctly then the risk of a detonation is the same as any other primer regardless of the effort required to seat. Just my view based on a little experience with these primers.

I had problems getting CCI LR primers into some Winchester brass (of dubious quality) - so I tried the 'more leverage method' - as the Rock-chucker seats a primer on the reverse stroke, I ended up with my shoulder under the press lever....I wore safety glasses, muffs and a massive cringe on my face....forgot the bicycle clips though....
I suppose other option is use a toffee hammer.
(can you even get toffee hammers anymore?)

BTW they do fit its just that the cups are hard and it takes a bit more effort to get the friction fit.

I always used a Lee primer tool for .303 and then one day the Magtech primers I always used for .303 got tight, in the end I had a primer half in and half out which was interesting as I could not remove the case. I ordered an RCBS primer tool and carried on a few days later, same primers, same batch of brass not further primer issues. I never did get to the bottom of why everything went so tight.

In one batch of 357 cases there is a rogue CBC case which *always* requires a lot more effort to reprime using the Lee hand prime and every time i come to i've passed the point of no return (2/3 in) and keep meaning to throw it away. However,i keep having blond moments and forget about the damn case until next time when its 2/3 of the way in and yes i did reload it again this afternoon...

You're quite right - but it was a few that had not fully seated with the hand primer, and although I'm making light of it, I was fully confident that if one did go off, all blast would go up (no die in the press)....if I didn't think it was safe I wouldn't have done it...however I still cringed, as I knew that if it did go off...I'd still jump out of my skin :P

Seriously though with enough foostle they seat OK, I've never had one go off.
I thought that saying was give me a fulcrum and a lever long enough - but the correct gist of the message is there

Ok,i reseated the primers using a blinking lot of force and yes...they slipped into the pocket correctly.
Cheers Adam.
