Correct - but this one wasn't used by the military or the police....it's from a film studio.

So that just leaves the one on the right - it has no rim at all, but has been fired as it has a 'rim-fire like' strike on it....and I have no clue at all what it is....?

They really do add to my collection...in fact it's nearly big enough to be called one now - That's given me a variety of aluminium and copper (copper looking) cases now, The Mauser case is very cool (I have a Luger one already), and I doubt I'd ever be likely to find a Rem jet lying around....

....I'll have to have a proper look at what I've got now, do some research, and try to source the correct bullets (or close) for them....

I used to have a load of those 9mm blanks when I was a kid, picked up from a film set at St Katherines Dock.
(Lloyd Bridges was the hero and he was always moaning about how the ammunition boots hurt his feet.)
There were 100's of them lying around. Dunno what happened to them - probably swapped them.

I've got some .303 drill rounds like the 7.62 on the left - but not seen anything like the one on the right...?

What's the measurement of the inside of the neck, and what does it say on the case head?

Edit: sorry, just seen the head stamp....

The larger case could be that which is used on a Challenger 1 or 2 main battle tank.
These cases which are blanks are used to detonate the main 120mm charge. They are held in a large magazine just like a rifle mag and fired electrically. Once these are fired, the resulting gases, pass along a tube vent electric into the main 120mm breech and sets of the main bag charge.
Once the main gun is fired, the brass cartridge is ejected and a new one inserted ready to initiate the firing of the next 120mm round.
Rather an old system but one which works. Could be wrong but that is my twopennorth.
