Lovely rifles tongueout

Scuse my ignorance, but I always thought these old martini actioned rifles took large hard to make cartridges - now I know they can take .303....I want one!

The original .577/450 cartridge is a fine round if approached correctly and not hard to make - just costly from a component point of view. The .303 examples are superb, I have several including an outstanding Metford-Match which will out shoot any of my SMLE's (including a AGP "accurised" example) at 600yd+. Sadly the majority were used as film props to fire .303 black powder cartridges (cheaper than .577/450!) and were left uncleaned as viewed as worthless - hence the rather low survival rate today. A great shame, but anyone who has an example in shootable condition should think themselves very lucky indeed (and derive as much enjoyment as possible from them!)

I tried a 100yd plinking round with the ME today, again the dodgyrog 210 cast boolit with 11gr of HS6, it worked well getting all rounds on the target, it was very very mild.
I shall be making some more up.
