I seem to remember Bisley Live was officially launched in the House of Lords and was going to make some money for the NRA as well. It makes me wonder who announced it in the House and what their involvement was.

A bit of research shows Lord Lucas as certainly appearing to be pro Olympics at Bisley and he asked the following in the House of Lords
Lord Lucas: My Lords, is it not a strange definition of cost-effective and a most appalling waste to spend £40 million on a shooting venue at Woolwich, which will be destroyed immediately after the Olympics, rather than £10 million less for a facility at Bisley that will be used for generations? Please, will the Government and the Olympic organising committee stop circulating me and other Members of this House with lies and half-truths about their reasons for this decision and publish in full the independent report that they have had from KPMG and the internal report that they prepared themselves, so we can understand the real reasons behind this decision?
I would like to think he would never have put his name to Bisley Live if he had known it was going Pear shaped at a later date.

Westech were a £100 company with parent company in Singapore - hmmmm what did they think would happen . . .
It was fairly obvious (to me and some others) from the start that it was likely to fail. Indeed, I said so but as I said before, no-one listened. (I don't claim that I was then or am now, an authority in the field of exhibitions but I did know that Century floods when it rains, Westech accused me, when I told them this irrefutable fact, that I was exaggerating and worrying over nothing.) Other members of my staff who offered Advice based on experience, were ignored.
Only one person from the Westech side (and he was a subcontractor) asked any real and pertinant questions, that was the bloke who did the loos and showers.
The NRA had no expertise or contacts in this particular area, Wetech sold themselves as 'experts' when clearly they were not experts in outside events.
In my opinion too many mistakes were made and there was no-one with the proper experience to lead from the front.
The Bisley Live show was Westechs first outdoor show, now, one year later I am told that they have filed for insolvency.
I bet no-one has or will lose his house!
Rant over.
Open another bottle. Hope for the best.

Ah Mrs Barr (Nee Masson) - did the NRA know she works with the new publisher of the Journal?

I've known Selena since she was trying to break onto the scene (Pre Shooting times) - so probably known her since 05ish - back when she knew nothing what so ever about shooting or the the shooting scene!
