I spent far too much on mine....... but once you realise that airsoft parts fit..... well, the rest as they say, is a work in progress!

Got to get me one of those trigger units!! Also seen a couple of other Gucci bits in the US via ebay, but they just down right refuse to ship to Merry 'Ol England!
:good: Sim, where did you get your UMP stock from? I was going to order mine from H&K Parts (and get it shipped to my friends in the US) Also where did you get the mag release extension from? I'm trying to turn mine into something more usuable for mini-rifle comps

Sim G wrote:The S&W is a far better piece of kit. But, you'll not find a decent S/H deal on them often. You can pick up an unmolested GSG for around 250 every now and again!

Your right about the lack of deals on the S&W, the S/H ones are very similar prices to new. Might go and have a look at a GSG in a shop not far from me, they have it up for £350. Would need to shift one of my other .22s first though.

Mark, I can't remember exactly which site I got them from, but it was t'interweb and somewhere Hong Kong way. The stock is a G&G version and the extended mag release is a LayLax/First Factory.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Are you sure, Mark? I just had a look and could only find the B&T made UMP stock and they want $230 for it...... And, I'm not sure if the genuine ones will fit.......

Or, one here for $40...

Ah just noticed it says B&T STYLE stock . . . so it could be a lower quality/airsoft one for $99

No GSG-5 for me, I have HK416 personally... I've only ever used Minimags with mine and I can't get them to group smaller than £2 coin size at 25 yards even with this setup:

Anyone used any good reliable ammo and attained better groups with these "straw tension" typed barrels? or is it a losing battle?
