We went through a phase at Bisley where, if your FAC said .308 we couldn't sell you 7.62 and vice versa.

Surrey FEO was eventually persuaded.

I believe that now, most areas accept one for the other, and so I believe, does the Home Office.

We won't go into the argument here about the minor techicalities of the differences.

Will we?

Yes Durham did the same with me (5.55x45mm/.223Rem and 7.62x51mm/.308Win), strangely though when i had my .357 LBR i had to put my ticket back in to get it changed to .38/.357??

So do you have two separate ammo allowances listed then?? i.e. .308Win 400/500 and 7.62x51mm 200/300?

I do, yes. Quite handy as it has basically doubled my ammunition allowance! Off the top of my head I can't remember exactly what I'm allowed but it's quite a bit more than I originally asked for!
