NRA shop...no thank you.

In truth this goes back a very long way. I can remember in the 1980s asking if the NRA were going to sell reloading supplies and was told that it was not their place to provide that sort of thing as Fultons were appropriate business for that.

It has always baffled me that the NRA, although much improved over the years, especially more recently, has never really exploited their greatly advantageous position to be the main source of ALL shooting supplies.

I have had a two or three of the hundred round MTM cases from them and some cleaning media, oh and some cleaning patches.

Just that if the NRA shop is referring to Fultons for stock they do not carry...well that will be a long wait then.

I was amazed at the price of .308 in the NRA Shop, for the first time since I have started reloading, I can now see that I may be making some money back on making my own ammunition.

Fred did mention that he had some 9mm due to be entered on the books, I might try and get over this week and see if it is any better than the stuff I currently have,

Dangermouse,mike chinery of stockade products has some gecko 9mm left,at 2011 prices get in there quick......as for the nra,well if there is one place in the uk u would expect a shop to sell a ton of ammo at its the nra,there is scope there for. Better shop,that could make money,especially as the nra could bulk buy discount more than the british army! U should be able to go there and stock up,end of story.........unless ure tr they don't give a toss.........

There is an NRA Council (trustees) meeting on Thursday this week.

I shall have a word, no promises, but Mik usually listens.

I will be having a beer with him later today and this, along with a couple of other topics, is one of the things I want to talk to him about.

As I say, no promises.

I think that many opportunities are being lost by people who give the impression that they don't care, this is to the detriment of the membership and is a disgrace.

Range Office staff do what they can but if it isn't in stock there isn't much they can do.

I suspect this could be a budget thing as much as anything, right now it must be difficult to justify a few thousand pounds worth of stock that may or may not sell (Other than factory ammunition) This issue is compounded by people not being able to buy what the want so they just stop asking for anything assuming it will not be available.

Asking the visitors what they would buy is a good start. Also it would be interesting to know what they do stock and what has a decent turnover, primers, powder, brass and bullets would be a good start but what to stock? I suspect even we as a small forum probably have 50+ different cartridges between us, probably more in fact.
