Re: inside neck reaming
They came with original Lee Target Loaders.
Like all Lee Loaders they neck resize only, when you tapped the case into the die you then inserted the neck reamer through the die into the case and reamed it out, the case and die were held in perfect alignment and you got a good concentric ream.
Well worth looking out for them, they were made in the days when Dick Lee knew what precision meant. The Lee loader are still a fine bit of kit and give very little bullet and case run out if used properly.

Re: inside neck reaming
The Lee neck reamer type die is a great idea but hard to come by these days and the reamers are pricey same goes for RCBS. Can you even get them these days?
My view is if you are going to neck ream you need to keep the cutter parallel to the neck and held firmly without any rocking, the best way has to be to neck size in a die then ream without removing the case so the neck is held securely and ideally have a long bearing surface for the reamer. This is why I do not like the K&M or Wilson offerings.
I have often thought about making a decent neck reaming die using separate bushings and aim to accommodate a series of cartridges but the hardening and grinding of the die plus supply of the reamer would make a one off horrendously expensive and I doubt the average reloader could justify the expenditure.

Aye there is nothing truly new in this shooting game, just the occasional application of new materials and manufacuring and measuring proceses. In most cases things are just a bit different, sometimes more affordable but not necessarily better.

Re: inside neck reaming
Thats why I snap the Lee ones up when I can, the last one I bought from the states, s/h of course, a couple of months ago was $25 plus shipping all complete and hardly used. It is also worth looking at incomplete sets as they go for a song but might just have the bits you are after.ovenpaa wrote:The Lee neck reamer type die is a great idea but hard to come by these days and the reamers are pricey same goes for RCBS.
