If I can get out of the door tonight I may try blowing a few .44 size holes in some bits of paper and see if that helps

I've not had a good week (and it's only Wednesday!), got 2 hospital appointments tomorrow and Friday and Fridays will not be pleasant, just hope I'm able to get to the full bore range on Sunday and do a bit of "executive stress relief" with the .308 :cool2:

Coming back to the earlier point about the Lee reloading manual, I'd say let's decide what you need from a reloading manual: a simple "how to do it for the first time and feel supported and safe all the way" type of guide or a "recipe book" of proven and tested loads?Dr. Strangelove wrote:Just had a stroke of good luck - got a set of Lee .303 collet dies from another forum for £20! So... Lee Challenger kit, Lyman tumbler, better scales, case length trim gauge and Lyman reloading guide and I'm good to go?
I'm not related to Mr Lee but can safely say that with no other help and support the Lee Manual taught me how to reload rifle ammunition and gave me enough confidence to do it all in the knowledge that squeezing the trigger on my first ever reload was not going to remove my head from my body. If you'd like to borrow it for a while... (the manual that is, not me head!)

Ideally both! I've reloaded 100 rounds of .303 but that was under the close supervision of a good friend who knows his stuff! I'm pretty confident in the process but it would be nice to have a "Reloading for Dummies" guide to refer to if needed. But I'd also like a more technical book! With regards to kit, I'm going to head into my local RFD tomorrow and see what they have!

Come off it guys it's not a bad buy for someone starting out and the optics warehouse are great to deal with. I would however have one serious issue with the kit and that is the Lee safety scales, I'm wouldn't be too happy with them and personally would launch them into the oggin. In fact someone tried to give me a set a couple of months ago and I declined the offer.
