I have the old 1050 that we use to load handgun ammo.I bought it in the eighties and it works well to this day.
I do not think you will make ammo as good as the single stage press or hand die,if your requirement is not stringet on accuracy the 1050 is as good as you can get.

If money was no object so that I could afford to use a 1050 to its full ability I would buy one but for the time being my 550B does everything that I want and more. Dillon are a brilliant company who produce excellant products. I looked at a Hornady at Newark and frankly wasn't impressed by what I saw. They probably work O.K. but the finish on their reloading gear was poor.
Comments regarding a single stage press being more accurate simply don't apply to the 550B because you can use it as a single station press if that is what you want.
