The powder reduction is due to the barometric pressure conversion due to living in the far SW  (dogs dangly things spring to mind!!)

That load is effectively the Palma Load. Change the bullet to a 2156 and It will shoot ½ MOA at 1000yds, as proved during the Palma trials last year.

Interesting thread!
I am in the process of loading 500 RWS cases for my AI with a 168 gr Privi HPBT; these will be used in Civilian Service Rifle events out to 500, and the occasional foray out to 600.

I did wonder if I should have stuck with the proven 155 SMK or not, but was swayed by a bag of Privi at a price I couldn't ignore!

Load development (N140) will start in a couple of weeks for the 20" barrelled AI, and I haven't deburred the flash hole either. Although all cases were full length resized and the necks all looked good when examined.
Around 7 or 8 cases were thrown away because of bulging around the lower half.

I use RWS brass, with 44-46 grns TR140 and 155 SMKs as mentioned earlier, seems very good brass and is on its 5th reloading so far with no splits and no need to discard any, I believe there is not going to be any available once fired from the NRA due to a manufacturing batch fault with the last lot ,however when they next have some in , I will buy it !

the old crap was OK it was the new lot that was buggered :cool2: apparently the current batch is Lapua bought in as a stopgap after the faults were found with last years batch or so I am told.
