It has promise but they need to tone it down a bit otherwise it will attract the wrong crowd and attention from elsewhere!
As far as i can tell they have a big feature on the Tactical style in the first edition, which is a very popular rimfire style, you only have to look at the amount on the market, my club has a load in the armoury which we can hire for £10 a time, they are also used on the maritime armed guard training courses they hold and can be used on the 'Practical shooting competitions' (shotgun, lbp or lbr & tactical rifle), also the magazines 1st staff gun is the CMMGMK-4 Evolution.
I imagine the guy in the video who is wearing knee protection is due to shooting it on a practical shooting range where he would be shooting from many different positions (not seen the video yet though), also the magazines editor has spent quite a bit of time in America so this could be a popular style in the states.

Its title is .22 Shooter - The magazine for the global rimfire community
Nothing to do with Air rifles in there.
Well according to their own 'Press Release' they are aiming the publication at 'Air Rifle Enthusiasts', so they don't really have a clue.
John,
Sorry i didnt mean it to come across as abrupt as it reads, i really mean't after reading the magazine there was no coverage of anything Air rifle wise in there, the only non firearm advert in there was for an airsoft gun seller. Maybe they are hoping to either:
Dupe air shooters into buying it
or
Hoping to get some Air shooters to jump over to rimfire, especially as you can shoot rimfire at most approved clubs as a non member using club guns, theres a few at our club that have come over from air.
No worries, the magazine is not to my liking and the Facebook pages have highlighted some areas for 'concern' or is it 'discomfort', Airsoft to Rimfire 'Crossover' event?
Hi all just got the first issue a good mag worth the £4 price tag.
Personley I cant see the problem some are haveing with the practical/tactical look with some of the articals. As this is a disaplin with in the rimfire world as for the guy with the inbuilt knee pads if the course of fire calls for shots from kneeling on posibley a hard ground serfice then I cant blame him or if it involves constant shifts between standing, kneeling and prone.
Also shouldant we incourage more people to try our sport rather than say one groupe is unsuitable because of there other hobbeys.I have a friend that takes parte in both Air soft
and shooting and is a normal stable person. So why does him being an Air soft player make him unsuitable to shoot Rimfire or Fullbore?
Could this just be an age thing as older shooters might not like it but younger shooters might be more interested in it?

Maybe its a perception thing, as i've never been to airsoft, i know someone who does but the pictures you see in the press show it similar to paintball, as in shooting at each other, which obviously you dont want with live rounds but i'm sure there are many decent folk doing both.

You might be wright as to the perception thing but I bet if Pistols were reintroduced a lot of the detracters would soon be back on the practical/tacticul nights.
I'm sure as well most people relise the diffrent results from being hit by BB and bullets.
I also think most clubs would not let new members take part in this style of event untill they prove they are a safe shooter ie:Complited there probathion with the club.
I also think has as been menthioned in other posts on this forum for our sport to continue never mind grow we need to attract younger people and if this does it I for one am for it.
As for the age thing you could take side bets on how long it will take the older members to go from standing, kneeling and prone and how will need to be rescued
Hi I just checked there face book page out and did a bit of research the air soft thing comes from them being bublished by the same companey that puts out the main air soft mag here.
The cross over event is so people in the air soft world could try rimfire shooting in a safe and controled enviroment. As long as the event is held in a proper range with RCOs and normal range safety then I cant see a problem with it.The more people that take up our sport the biger the voice we have
I my self in the past have had to tell people that it is still legal in the UK to shoot real guns as a lot of people think the closest they can get to a gun is a air rifle/pistol,paintballing and air soft.
