You only need one set of beam scales, it doesn't work with digital scales. What beam scales are you using now?

However, beam scales are also 1/10 gr accuracy, and they're not perfect.

For my 223 long range loads I dispense with a chargemaster, then check on the RCBS 505, then verify that again on a Lyman beam scale. For the powder charge to make it into the case, they need to agree.

However, for my 308, I load straight off the chargemaster. At the F-class training weekend, while my wind reading was bloody awful, the elevation was very consistent indeed, and IMHO doesn't warrant any change.

Christel builds straight off the ChargeMaster for everything apart from my 7mm which gets spot checked. We have beam scales and digital scales and even a Harrell but the CM works quite adequately.

The problem with the Lee is that they are not dampened so they bounce about before settling so will trigger the photoelectric cell before charge weight is reached. You'll get a new set of Lyman scales for around £55.00 say so total cost £156.

I use a RCBS powder measure I set it to drop just under my charge weight in to a a dummy case then I dump it in to the pan on my Hornady beam scale and trickle the last couple of grains in using a hornady powder trickler.
I then put the pan on my digital scale to check the weight is correct then pour it in the case.
Job done.
