Ignorance Time: Apologies, the revolvers I would call "Single Action Army"... what are they, they obviously can't be breech-loading, but they don't look like cap 'n' balls either.

First time I've ever seen a "SAA" LBR too

The two "SAA" are Uberti Cattlemen B/P. The cylinder is removed from the frame and powder and ball loaded using a small press. The cylinder is replaced and the nipples capped via the loading gate.

Wow, I've never seen/heard of one of them before. They sound neat

I couldn't believe it when I came across it in the UK! I was called a few names by some of them in the Marlin Collectors Assoc. But that said, I wasn't even looking for anything this "modern". I was looking for an 1894 in either .25-20 or .38-40, well I still am, but they are rare beasts in Jolly 'Ole.

The .32 mag is a lovely cartridge as you say. But, as the gun came with a couple of hundred .32 Long cases I've given them a go as well. Stoked with Green Dot and a 95gn lead bullet....... Oh man, absolutely no recoil and it'll place a bullet on top of the other one at 25yds.

If able to, I'd go with an S&W mod 16 to partner this........

I know what you mean about .32 Long accuracy. I shoot them out of my .310 cadet and even with undersized .314 bullets and undersized cases the accuracy is amazing. For some reason the Ruger doesn't like .32 Longs and does something funny to the mechanism when cocking it. The cases look fine when they come out but there is a hesitation in the action with the longs that isn't present with the mags.

Nice to see the Marlins getting some love! Most folks are crazy for Winchesters over here and old Marlins can usually be picked up for a lot less. I happen to like the Marlin rifles myself. I could be biased though since my first rifle as a 16 yr old was a $15 Marlin bolt action .22 with scope purchased at the local hardware store by my father for me.

Nice collection, something for every occasion there...

These days the RPA would be the only one for me though.

It's the same here. An equivilent Winchester will sell for for a lot more and a lot easier than a Marlin.

I'm a regular "visitor" on US guns sale sites and I could so easily fill my "wish list" with what's available and there's generally lots of it! Saw a lovely 1893 again in .32 Win Spl with a 20" half round/octagonal barrel. Fella wasn't interested in sending via an international arms shipper based in the US, even though his rifle qualified under C&R.

Is it just as much trouble getting C&R out of the US as current stuff? A year or two ago a friend had antique flintlocks and percussion sent from the US via FedEx. Have things changed?

The problem may be on the U.K. side. I don't think there is any issue shipping antiques out of the U.S. Bringing stuff in here has gotten a lot tougher though. We can't import military issue barrels any longer for example. The dolts in the government thought that would put a stick in our spokes but instead manufacturers just started making them locally!
